Some Quotes
Well again today I was smacked in tha face with the global perspective i so many times live without. The need in Africa is great. I dont know what to do right now other than not forget these people. Here is a quote by Donald Miller (yeah thats right its acutally a good one)
“The crisis in Africa is difficult to translate to those of us living in the states. Our hearts do not know where to begin. Of the greatest accomplishments of Bloodwater Mission has been their ability to sort through the chaos to match provision with need. Clean water prevents many diseases that can prove fatal to a person suffering from AIDS. Clean water, then, guards clean blood. The simple gift of a dollar provides invaluable clean water for one African for One year. Our calling, then, is to give from our undeserved provision into their undeserved need. In doing so, we participate in the search and rescue mission God is orchestrating in this fallen world.”
-Donald Miller
Further more here is an intresting quote i heard in a song, we can argue about the justification for the war in Iraq later but think about this at least
Non-Violence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time. The need for man to over come oppression and violence without resorting to violence and oppression.
Thats all for today but it keeps me thinking

I’m going to recommend a book to you. Please keep in mind that I’m recommending it with reservation. I love the thoughts and the challenge that Shane Claiborne puts out in his book, but his application is completely wrong. You need to read The Irresistible Revolution. At least the first half of the book. You’ll come away challenged.
Thanks for the suggestion. Ill check it out.
i must say i have to disagree with the non-violence quote. non-violence is a chief way in which we show the love of Christ to the world indeed, but it is far from the answer. The answer is Christ.
John Piper puts it best on page 159 of don’t waste your life: “. . .any good-hearted goal, without the desire to give people eternal joy in God, is condemnation with a kind face. Love always wants what is best for the needy, and what’s best is enjoying God fully and forever.”
So yes, seek peace and pursue it, but as an end or as “the answer” but as the means to show Christ to the violently oppressed.
sorry, “NOT as an end or ‘the answer’. . .”
Good answers on Africa in Martin Meredith’s book The Fate of Africa. Check it out. Doesn’t really touch AIDS as much but is essential to understanding why so little gets done over there.
I share your burdern for the people of Africa. Pray and look for opportunities!
Dailey thanks for the refrence I’ve read that book several times but for sure am going to go back and look at that
Wow I totally missed all of that untill jsut now and i see what you are saying Dailey and your exactly right. . . I was missing the part of the quote in which it said that non-violence was the ANSWER I was not really reading it like that, but your right
